The Kinsey Collection Special Juneteenth Exhibition at Toyota HQ

In celebration of the Juneteenth holiday and its significance to Texas, we partnered with Toyota for a special exhibition at their beautiful new headquarter campus in Plano. Located in the Toyota Experience Center, primarily used to showcase the company’s history and products – we transformed a portion of the space into a true fine art gallery space for Toyota employees and the Dallas community to experience.

On view June 18th – July 6th, 2018
Open on Thursdays and Fridays to the public from 11 am -1 pm

The Kinsey Collection Brand New 5th Edition Coffee Book – Now Available!

We are excited to announce the release of the brand new 5th edition Coffee Table Book from The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection! We have been working hard on this new, enhanced 5th edition, complete with an all new silver cover and nearly 40 new pages of content.
 
The 5th edition contains newly acquired historical objects and fine art that have been recently added to the collection and exhibition. New historical objects include 25 of 132 pristine condition NAACP Crisis Magazines from 1911-27, the program for the First Annual 100 Mile Race for Colored Drivers in 1924, a 1941 The Negro Motorist Green Book, and more. Added artists and artworks include Kerry James Marshall, Laura Wheeler Waring, Henry Bozeman Jones, Ellis Wilson and more. This new edition also highlights the Rediscovering America: Family Treasures from The Kinsey Collection exhibit at Epcot, Walt Disney World that has been on display since 2013.

The Kinsey Collection at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio – Opening November 4th!

We are excited to announce the opening of The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection on November 4th at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

In 2007, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center was the second museum to show The Kinsey Collection, and it is wonderful to return 10 years later. The NURFC sits on the beautiful Ohio River and is a stunning world-class museum dedicated to African American history and culture. Mark your calendars, details on events to be forthcoming. We hope to see you there.

Hong Kong Philharmonic honors The Kinsey Collection

On February 25th, 2017…the Hong Kong Philharmonic put on a beautiful concert inspired by and honoring The Kinsey Collection exhibit at the University of Hong Kong Museum and Gallery. A surreal moment and testament to the global interest in African American history and culture.

American Airlines highlights Kinsey Collection sponsorship in Cargo News

American Airlines – official airline of the Kinsey Collection, and sponsor of the Rising Above exhibit at the University of Hong Kong, proudly highlighted their transport of the collection to Hong Kong for it’s international debut.

American Airlines handled the transport of more than 3,000 lbs of priceless contents flawlessly. Special thanks to Commercial Director Thomas Scruby and team, Heath Knisely and Elfi Chik.
